BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China
(CPC), China's ruling party, has pledged to work closely with its
long-term partners, non-communist parties and the All-China
Federations of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC).
The CPC Central Committee, newly elected at the 17th CPC National
Congress which closed on Sunday, wrote a letter of acknowledgement
to eight democratic parties and the ACFIC here Tuesday.
"The CPC will work closely with all democratic parties and the ACFIC as
it has always done before. The Party hopes for, and will support,
their self-improvement and full participation in deliberation,
administration and supervision of state affairs," the letter said.
China has moved into a new stage of reform, opening-up and modernization,
which requires greater contribution from all democratic parities and
the ACFIC, it said.
Under the guidelines of the 17th National Congress, the Party will foster
the broadest patriotic united front recruiting everyone who works or
supports socialism and the country's unification, it said.
It will stick to the multi-party cooperation and political consultation
under the leadership of CPC , it said.
The non-communist parties and the ACFIC have cooperated with the Party in
the past five decades as "close friends" and important forces to
form the patriotic united front, push forward economic development,
maintain peace and stability and promote the peaceful reunification
of the motherland, it said.
The eight parties are Revolutionary Committee of Chinese Kuomintang,
Chinese Democratic League, China National Democratic Construction
Association, China Association for Promoting Democracy, Chinese
Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, China Zhi Gong Party, Jiu San
Society and Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League.
