Musharraf meets with Liu Hongcai

ISLAMABAD March 28 -- President Musharraf of Pakistan stated on the 28th that Pakistan's strategic partnership of all-round cooperation with China will not change because of changes in the international situation and domestic situation of Pakistan.

President Musharraf of Pakistan made the above statement while meeting in Rawalpindi with vice-minister Liu Hongcai of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Musharraf said that Pakistan-China relationship is the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policies. The Pakistani side highly values Pakistan-China friendship which has been tested by the times and will further deepen all-round cooperation with China and promote the constant development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Musharraf emphasized that Pakistan will maintain close cooperation with China in regional and international affairs. Deeming Taiwan and Tibet as inalienable parts of China, Pakistan staunchly supports every effort of China in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He wished the Beijing Olympic Games a great success.

Liu said that China-Pakistan friendship, which has been cultivated by generations of leaders, successive governments and people of the two countries, is deep-rooted in people's hearts. He expressed China's appreciation of Pakistan for its support on the issues bearing on the core interests of China including Taiwan, Tibet, human rights, and the crack down on the "three evil forces". He said that China will make efforts to promote further cooperation with Pakistan in various fields.

Liu was visiting Pakistan to attend the ninth Standing Committee meeting of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties. While in Pakistan, he also held meetings with Dr. Fahmida Mirza, speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan and leaders of major political parties.
