Dai Bingguo Meets with Japanese Ruling Coalition Delegation

BEIJING, April 15 -- State Councilor Dai Bingguo met at Diaoyutai State Guest House this afternoon with a delegation from the Japanese ruling coalition headed by Secretary-General Ibuki Bunmei of the Liberal Democratic Party and Secretary-General Kitagawa Kazvo of the New Komeito Party.

Dai Bingguo said that with the joint efforts of people from different sectors of the two countries, the overall Sino-Japanese relationship is turning for the better with a sound momentum. He stressed that the two sides should be firmly committed to the greater interest of China-Japan good-neighborliness and friendly cooperation, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and work to ensure a long-term, healthy and steady development of bilateral relations. Dai reaffirmed the importance of President Hu Jintao¡¯s upcoming visit to Japan, saying that this visit will have a far-reaching bearing on the strengthening of political mutual trust and planning for long-term development of bilateral ties. He expressed the hope that the two sides will work closely together for full preparations so as to make the best of this visit and ensure its complete success.

On their part, Ibuki Bunmei and Kitagawa Kazvo said that President Hu¡¯s visit is warmly welcome by both parties in the ruling coalition and the Japanese people. They sincerely wish it a complete success with fruitful results, for which the ruling coalition stands ready to make its active contribution.
