BEIJING, April 21 -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) is ready to promote exchanges with the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) to advance the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two nations, a senior CPC official said here on Monday.

Wang Gang, a Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee member, made the remark when meeting with a BSP delegation led by the party's senior official Dimitar Stoyanov Dabov.

Wang, also National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) vice chairman, said China and Bulgaria enjoy profound traditional friendship.

The two nations in recent years have maintained high-level visits and increased mutual trust in politics, expanded cooperation in economy, culture, science and technology, and kept sound cooperation in international affairs, he noted.

Wang said to increase exchanges between the CPC and the BSP, both ruling parties, would help the development of the two nations and accord with the interests of the two peoples.

Wang applauded the BSP's support to China over the Taiwan and Tibet issues.

Dabov and his delegation was here on a visit to China at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
