Wang Jiarui meets with Indian guests

BEIJING, May 27 -- Minister Wang Jiarui of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi, and her party.

Wang briefed the guests on China's earthquake relief efforts and thanked the Indian government and people for their valuable support. Wang said that China and India are close neighbors and that good relations of the two countries benefits not only the two countries but also Asia and the world. The Communist Party of China stands ready to promote the development of China-India relations through the channel of party exchanges.

Dikshit said that the Indian government at various levels and the Indian people will continue to offer the best help they can to the Chinese government and people for earthquake relief. She also expressed the belief that China will overcome the current difficulties and will stage a successful Olympic Games in the near future. Dikshit also commended Wang's suggestions on developing China-India relations.
