Wang Jiarui Meets with ANC President

Beijing, June 12 ¨C Minister Wang Jiarui of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met at Diaoyutai State Guest House today with South Africa¡¯s ANC president Jacob Zuma.

Wang said that the past 10 years since the inauguration of diplomatic ties between China and South Africa have witnessed fast and comprehensive development of bilateral relations, with the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two sides featuring in equality, mutual benefit and common development. He stressed that the relationship between the two parties is a decisive political foundation that underpins relations between the two states, and that the CPC and the ANC, as the ruling parties of two important developing countries, should further strengthen cooperation for the advancement of China-South Africa relations. Wang also briefed Zuma about the CPC¡¯s experience in state governance and China¡¯s earthquake relief efforts.

On his part, Zuma expressed his happiness to visit China again at the invitation of the CPC. He said that the ANC is ready to further strengthen cooperation with the CPC to promote state-to-state relations. He also indicated that his party is willing to learn from the CPC¡¯s experience in running the state with the view to consolidating the ANC¡¯s ruling status.
