Wang Jiarui meets German vice chancellor

BEIJING, June 14 -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said here Saturday China is willing to promote relations with Germany through party-to-party exchanges.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

"The CPC has established good relations with main parties in Germany.We would like to boost bilateral cooperation via exchanges between political parties," Wang told Steinmeier.

He also called for joint efforts to cherish the hard-won good momentum in Sino-German relationship.

Steinmeier said Germany values relations with China, adding he believes the Sino-German ties would continue to develop with the efforts from both sides.
