NAIROBI, July 14 -- Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee Guo Jinlong met here today with President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta. Guo started by conveying the cordial greetings of Chinese President Xi Jinping to President Kenyatta. Kenyatta thanked for it and asked Guo to return his best regards to President Xi.

Highlighting the time-honored friendship between China and Kenya and between the two peoples, Guo said that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have maintained sound development since China and Kenya established diplomatic ties 51 years ago. Last year, President Xi and President Kenyatta reached important consensus in further growing China-Kenya relations and the official visit to Kenya by Premier Li Keqiang this year has indeed injected new impetus for the sustained and in-depth development of the bilateral relations, said Guo. The CPC and the Jubilee Alliance have conducted fruitful exchanges since they established friendly relations last April and the Chinese side is ready to make concerted efforts with the Kenyan side, carry forward the idea of “sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith”, implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries within the “461” framework of China-Africa cooperation and further promote the comprehensive partnership of cooperation between the two countries, said Guo.

Kenyatta said that the deep traditional friendship between Kenya and China has witnessed great development in recent years. Kenyatta thanked the Chinese government and people for their support for Kenya’s development. Both as ruling parties, the Jubilee Alliance and the CPC face common tasks of solidifying the society, growing the economy and improving people’s livelihood and the relations between the ruling parties serve as the foundation for relations between the two countries, said Kenyatta. The Jubilee Alliance is ready to strengthen its exchanges and cooperation with the CPC and learn from the governing experience of China so as to improve the governance of the two respective parties and further develop the bilateral relations between the two countries, said Kenyatta.
