BEIJING, Dec. 17 -- Assistant minister Li Jun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met today here with M Fazlul Karim, new Bangladeshi ambassador to China.

Li welcomed Karim’s assuming of the office, and spoke positively on China-Bangladesh relations and the party-to-party ties between the two countries. He said that the Chinese side is willing to work with the Bangladeshi side to implement the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, and build closer comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Bangladesh.

Karim said that next year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China, and that assuming the office of ambassador to China means great responsibilities to him at such an important joint. He pledged to make his best effort for the promotion of ties between the parties and governments of the two countries.
