Yan Junqi meets SPLM of South Sudan

BEIJING, Nov. 20 -- Yan Junqi, vice-chairwoman of the standing committee of the National People's Congress, met in Beijing on Nov. 20th with the second study group of senior officials of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) of South Sudan led by Daniel Awet Akot, member of SPLM Political Bureau.  

Yan said that China has always approached its friendly cooperative relations with South Sudan from a strategic height and long-term perspective. Closer ties between the two countries at the levels of political party, government and parliament will help enhance mutual understanding and friendship.

She added that China is willing to join hands with South Sudan to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields.  

Akot said that the SPLM and the South Sudan government give significance to bilateral relations and is ready to draw on China’s experience of governance and development.

He expressed hope for China to play a bigger role in helping South Sudan realize peace, stability and development.
