 ( 2015.09.11 )

BEIJING, September 11 – Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met in Beijing today with Nguyen Van Tho, departing ambassador of Vietnam.

Wang Jiarui said that Ambassador Nguyen did a lot for the implementation of the agreements reached by leaders of the two countries during his stint, which the Chinese side appreciates. China and Vietnam, both socialist countries governed by communist parties, are in a community of shared destiny, he said. The party-to-party relationship has always been playing an important leading role in the relationship between the two countries, Wang said, and the two sides should further strengthen mutual political trust, consolidate the traditional friendship, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, properly manage differences, and uphold the sixteen-character policy and the “four-good” principles, so as to enable stable and healthy development of bilateral ties on a right track. Wang also said that he hopes the Ambassador continues working for this shared goal.

Nguyen said that he thanks the International Department for its great support to him during his seven years as ambassador. He has a strong affection towards China and the Chinese people, Nguyen said, and will continue following the situation of China closely and making his contribution to party-to-party and state-to-state relations and people-to-people friendship between China and Vietnam after leaving the post.
