Chinese vice president meets New Zealand guest

BEIJING, Oct. 24 -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with New Zealand Labor Party leader Andrew Little on Friday.

Hailing the progress of bilateral relations, Li called on both sides to implement the consensus of leaders of the two countries, deepen political mutual trust and expand cooperation in various areas.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) attaches importance to the relationship with the Labor Party and is willing to promote exchanges on state governance to advance the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, Li said.

Little said Labor Party hopes to increase dialogue and exchanges with the CPC to further bilateral ties.
