Song Tao Meets with USDP Chairman and Former Myanmar President

Nay Pyi Taw, August 11th,--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with U Thein Sein, Chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and former President of Myanmar.

Song expressed that China-Myanmar good-neighborly friendship enjoys a time-honored history. China attaches great importance to developing bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The CPC will continue to maintain friendly exchanges with the USDP and promote  relations between the two countries for healthy and stable development.

U Thein Sein thanked China for its long-term support and assistance to Myanmar’s economic and social development and stated that although the USDP’s political status has changed, its stance on supporting Myanmar-China friendship will not change. The USDP is willing to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the CPC and learn from China’s party building experience.
