Nay Pyi Taw, August 12th-- Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing of the Myanmar Armed Forces.

Song said that the military is an important political force of Myanmar. China will support relevant parties of Myanmar to advance the process of domestic peace and reconciliation through peace talks. China stands ready to continue to promote exchanges and cooperation between the militaries of the two countries and enrich bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Min Aung Hlaing said that as a constructive force for national development and regional stability, the Myanmar military will strive for positive results from the domestic peace process. The Myanmar military is willing to make every effort to maintain the traditional Myanmar-China friendship and continue to intensify relations between the two countries and the two militaries.
