Wang Yajun, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) led a working group to visit Vietnam from November 2nd to 4th.

During the visit in Vietnam, Wang respectively met with Trần Đắc Lợi, Deputy Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee's Commission for External Affairs, Nguyễn Mạnh Tiến, Vice Chairman of External Relations Committee of Vietnam National Assembly and Lê Hoài Trung, Deputy Foreign Minister. Wang expressed that the overall China-Vietnam relations have maintained a positive development in recent years. General Secretary Xi Jinping realized historic mutual visits with General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng last year, charting the course and planning the blueprint for the development of bilateral relations in the next stage. China is willing to make joint efforts with Vietnam to comprehensively implement the consensus reached by both top leaders and promote China-Vietnam relations for sustainable, healthy and stable development. Wang expressed that Comrade Zhang Dejiang, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will lead a delegation of the CPC and Chinese government to visit Vietnam. It is believed that this visit will vigorously enhance bilateral political mutual trust, promote communication and cooperation in various fields between the two countries as well as inject new strong impetus into the development of bilateral relations.

The Vietnamese side expressed that the two countries are not only friendly neighbors, but also socialist countries led by the Communist Party. Vietnam-China relations have an important strategic significance. Vietnam attaches high importance to and warmly looks forward to Chairman Zhang's visit to the country, and believes the visit will further consolidate bilateral traditional friendship, deepen strategic communication between the two sides, promote cooperation between the two countries in various fields and lead the relationship between the two parties and two countries towards continuous progress. Vietnam will maintain close communication and cooperation with the Chinese side, so as to ensure a complete success from the visit.
