Liu Yunshan Meets with Foreign Guests

Wuzhen, November 15th--Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee met here today respectively with Hor Namhong, Deputy Cambodian Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, former Australian Prime Minister and Derek Aberle, President of Qualcomm Incorporated.

When meeting with Hor Namhong, Liu said that President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to Cambodia not long ago, which has injected new impetus into the development of China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. China is willing to work with Cambodia to further deepen practical cooperation in various fields and enhance experience exchanges on internet development and governance, so as to better benefit the two peoples.

Hor Namhong said that President Xi's visit is of historic significance in the development of bilateral relationship. The Cambodian government, the Cambodia People’s Party and the Cambodian people will take it as a driving force to comprehensively deepen bilateral practical cooperation and lift the level of bilateral friendship.

When meeting with Hawke, Liu said that both China and Australia are important countries in the Asia-Pacific region and share broad common interests in internet development and governance. Both sides should actively promote communication in such areas as network connectivity and  deepening network administration and security, so as to push bilateral practical cooperation in cyber space for new results.

Hawke said that bilateral cooperation enjoys extensive areas, mutual benefit, win-win results as well as huge potential. Having witnessed China’s achievements in reform and opening up, which have benefited people of all countries, including Australia, he believes that China will continuously contribute to the development of internet and benefit itself and the world.

When meeting with Aberle, Liu affirmed the cooperation between Qualcomm and Chinese enterprises and hoped that Qualcomm could adhere to mutual benefit and win-win results when deepening exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side, so as to make positive contributions to promoting technological innovation in internet and building a community of common destiny of cyber space.

Aberle said that with smooth cooperation, Qualcomm and Chinese enterprises have formed a cooperation pattern featuring mutual benefit and win-win results. Qualcomm is willing to further expand cooperation with China to jointly facilitate network security and technological innovation.
