Zagreb, April 10th (Xinhua)--Andrej Plenković, Chairman of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and Croatian Prime Minister met here today with Zhang Chunxian, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Deputy Leader of the Central Leading Group for Party Building.

Zhang conveyed the warm greetings from General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. He said that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries. Bilateral relations have achieved substantial development and continuously showed new vitality over the past 25 years. Attaching importance to the development of bilateral relations, China is willing to work with Croatia to further promote bilateral cooperation in various fields with the help of platforms including the construction of the "Belt and Road" as well as the "16+1 cooperation". The CPC is ready to strengthen exchanges, deepen exchanges of experience on party governance and state administration with the HDP, so as to advance the in-depth development of China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership and benefit both peoples. Zhang also introduced the new achievements of China's economic and social development since the 18th CPC National Congress, as well as the CPC’s new ideas, new thoughts and new strategies on state governance and administration.

Plenković asked Zhang to convey sincere greetings to General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. He expressed that Croatia stands ready to give full play to its geographic advantages, actively respond to the "Belt and Road" initiative and the "16+1 cooperation" proposed by China, and make constant efforts to the development of Croatia-China comprehensive cooperative partnership. The HDZ is willing to conduct close communication and cooperation with the CPC, so as to constantly boost relations between both countries.

At the invitation of the HDZ, Zhang led the CPC delegation to visit Croatia on April 8th. During the visit, Zhang also met with Gordan Jandroković, HDZ General Secretary and Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, and Nikola Dobroslavić, President of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, exchanging in-depth views on deepening cooperation in political parties, parliaments and at local levels.
