Beijing, July 27th--Xu Lyuping, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today on the afternoon with Ethiopian Ambassador to China Seyoum Mesfin.

Xu said that President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia jointly upgraded China-Ethiopia relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership this May, which opens up broad prospects for the development of bilateral relations. The CPC is willing to make joint efforts with the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) to constantly deepen communication and coordination, and continuously make contributions to respective causes and the development of China-Ethiopia relations.

Seyoum expressed that the Ethiopian side firmly commits to developing Ethiopia-China friendly cooperation, and will take the establishment of Ethiopia-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership as an opportunity to push forward bilateral cooperation in various fields. The EPRDF stands ready to learn from the CPC’s experience on party and state governance, so as to improve its own governing capacity and level.
