Beijing, August 17th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with the delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) led by Jose Ramon Monteagudo Ruiz, member of the PCC Central Committee and First Secretary of the PCC Sancti Spiritus Committee.
Speaking positively of the relationship between both parties and the two countries, Song commended Cuba’s achievement of its socialist construction. He said that China and Cuba are socialist countries under the leadership of the Communist Party. China has always viewed China-Cuba relations from a strategic height and long-term perspective. Both countries should further deepen the relationship between both parties and the two countries according to the “three significant proposals that should be adhered to” put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The CPC is willing to, together with the PCC, exchange and learn from each other’s experience in party governance and state administration, and improve respective ruling capacity. Both sides should well plan the exchanges between the two parties, enrich the forms of party-to-party communication and deepen the connotation of cooperation.
Highly appraising China’s great achievements in its reform and opening up under the leadership of the CPC, Monteagudo expressed the willingness to further promote the in-depth development of the relationship between the two parties and both countries. Cuba is undergoing the upgrade of its economic and social models, and stands ready to learn from China’s successful experience in its reform and the practice of its party building, and deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties.
