Song Tao Meets with Member of the CPP Standing Committee and Deputy Prime Minister

Beijing, September 25th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Men Sam An, Member of the Standing Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly–Senate Relations and Inspection. Both sides exchanged candid views on relations between the two parties and both countries as well as topics of common interest.

Song expressed that China regards Cambodia as a good neighbor, good friend, good brother and good partner, always puts the development of friendly relations with Cambodia into the priority of China’s diplomacy with neighboring countries, and firmly supports Cambodia to choose a development path conforming to its own national condition. China is willing to, together with the Cambodian side, well implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Hun Sen, and deepen practical cooperation in various fields, in a bid to push China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for continuous and in-depth development. The CPC is ready to enhance cooperation and deepen experience communication on state governance and administration with the CPP, in a bid to make new contributions to the development of China-Cambodia relations.

Men Sam An said that China is a good and sincere friend of Cambodia, and Cambodia thanks China for great support and assistance to the economic and social development of the country. The CPP and the royal government attach great importance to developing relations with China, and stand ready to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to continuously deepen bilateral friendship and push for bilateral practical cooperation, so as to better benefit the two peoples.
