BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Congratulations have been pouring in from around the world since Chinese President Xi Jinping was re-elected general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday.

In their messages, leaders of foreign countries, political parties and organizations also expressed their confidence that the CPC, under Xi's leadership, will guide China toward greater prosperity and a larger international role.

The following is an edited version of some of the messages.

Natsuo Yamaguchi, president of Japan's Komeito Party:

On behalf of Japan's Komeito party, I sincerely congratulate the complete success of the 19th CPC National Congress and your re-election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

Dimitrios Papadimoulis, vice president of the European Parliament:
