Vientiane, November 2nd--Song Tao, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Special Envoy and Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Phankham Viphavanh, Member of the Political Bureau, General Secretary of Secretariat of the Central Committee of Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP)and Vice President of Laos.

Song Tao comprehensively briefed the situation of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, and stressed that the Congress has established Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guiding ideology that the Party must adhere to for a long time, which is the most prominent historical contribution the Congress made. The Congress adopted a comprehensive plan for the great new undertaking of Party building and made clear the general requirements for the Party building in the new era. The Congress stressed that enhancing the Party should take political building as the overarching principle, comprehensively advance the Party building in politics, ideology, organization, work styles, and discipline, and always emphasize institutional development. The Congress stressed that the Party should carry out deeply the fight against corruption and should constantly improve the quality of the Party building, and the Party building is a never-ending effort. The Party should firmly advance strict Party governance and should ensure the Party to be the core of leadership for all the causes of China.

Song Tao said that both China and Laos are socialist countries led by Communist Parties and are a community of shared future with strategic significance. We are willing to join hands with Laos to strengthen high-level exchanges between the two parties, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties, consolidate the friendly economic and humanistic foundation of both countries, strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and continuously push forward China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, so as to brings tangible benefits to the two peoples.

Phankham said that the 19th CPC National Congress has attracted worldwide attention and is of great significance. The Congress established Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guiding ideology that the Party must adhere to for a long time, which has a far-reaching impact on the world and will provide theoretical guidelines for the Lao Party and other socialist parties. The achievements made by the Congress, especially the achievements in the Party building deserve to be learned by the Lao side. Laos is willing to work together with China to create an unbreakable community of shared future and play a good demonstration effect for building a common community of shared future for mankind.
