At the invitation of South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) Party of Namibia, Xu Lyuping, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, led a CPC goodwill delegation to visit Namibia from November 22nd to 25th.
During the visit in Namibia, Xu attended the opening ceremony of the sixth SWAPO Congress, and read the CPC Central Committee’s congratulatory letter to the SWAPO Central Committee. Xu also met respectively with President Hage Geingob, Founding President Sam Nujoma, former President Hifikepunye Pohamba and Nangolo Mbumba, the SWAPO General Secretary. Xu introduced the main spirit and significance of the 19th CPC National Congress, and expressed that the Chinese side is willing to further consolidate China-Namibia traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation in various fields and jointly make greater contributions to the construction of China-Africa community of common destiny and as well as to promoting human progress.
The Namibian side warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s re-election. The country spoke highly of China’s historical achievements in reform and opening up as well as in building socialist modernization over the past five years, and expressed the hope to continuously enhance experience exchange on state governance and administration between the two parties, in a bid to elevate bilateral relations to new stages.
