CPC Delegation Visits the EU Headquarters to Promote Spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress

From December 12th to 13th, at the invitation of the Party of European Socialists, Gao Xuanmin, Vice Minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, led a CPC delegation to visit the EU headquarters where he promoted the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress. Gao respectively met with the leaders of the Party of European Socialists, the European People’s Party and the European External Action Service, promoting the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress. Gao also attended the special symposium on “The 19th CPC National Congress and China’s Future Development” held by the European External Action Service and delivered a keynote speech. More than 30 people including chief officers from the Directorate General for Trade, the Directorate General for Justice and Consumers and the Directorate General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission as well as senior diplomats from the European External Action Service were present.

Gao comprehensively introduced the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and mainly expounded on the profound significance of the 19th CPC National Congress on China’s future development and China-EU cooperation. He expressed that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era, China will comprehensively deepen the reform and continue to release development vitality. China will keep abreast with the times, make innovation in development modes, go global further and develop an open economy of higher standards. China will uphold a people-centered approach towards a better life, and promote the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind. Gao stressed that the convening of the 19th CPC National Congress will bring new historic opportunities for mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between China and Europe.

The European side highly appreciated the people-centered development philosophy proposed in the work report to the 19th CPC National Congress, and expressed that the roadmap formulated in the report for China’s modernization in the future not only exerts significant influence on China, but will certainly have important impacts on Europe. As Europe and China are the joint builders of bilateral relations, Europe stands ready to enhance mutual learning and deepen cooperation under the framework of the “Belt and Road” with China, so as to achieve common prosperity and development.

Gao presented the European side with the second volume of the English version of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China and the English version of the report to the 19th CPC National Congress.
