Zimbabwean President Meets with Xu Lyuping and His Delegation

Harare, December 15th--Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe African National Union–Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF) and President of Zimbabwe met here today with Xu Lyuping, the CPC Representative and Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, as well as his delegation.

Mnangagwa welcomed and thanked the CPC for sending a representative to attend the ZANU-PF Special Congress, spoke highly of the all-weather friendship between the two countries, and welcomed China to increase investment and cooperation in Zimbabwe to help its economic revitalization.

Xu expressed that China-Zimbabwe relations face new development opportunities. China is willing to work with country to continuously deepen cooperation in various fields, and well manage the work of President Xi Jinping’s visit to Zimbabwe and the implementation of outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to benefit the two peoples.

Xu also attended the opening ceremony of the ZANU–PF Special Congress and read out the letter of congratulations from the CPC Central Committee.
