Beijing, December 14th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee held talks here today on the afternoon with Vincent Meriton, President of the People's Party (PP) and Vice President of Seychelles.
Both sides spoke positively of the relations between the two countries and the two parties. Song introduced the spirit of the keynote speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and appreciated the PP for sending high-level representatives to attend the high-level meeting. He said that the relationship between China and Seychelles is a model of relations between large and small countries and South-South cooperation. China will as always, support Seychelles’ economic and social development, and support the PP and the government to explore a development path suitable to national condition. China is willing to enhance cooperation in various fields between both countries through party-to-party channel. The CPC is ready to exchange ideas and experience on party governance and state administration with friendly political parties in Africa including the PP, strengthen unity and coordination, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.
Meriton spoke highly of great economic and social development outcomes achieved by the Chinese people under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and China’s major contributions to the world socialism cause, actively supported the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and the establishment of a better world with peace and harmony that is for everyone. He said that China has set an example in treating national relations and party-to-party relations, as well as other aspects on the principles of not exporting "China model," mutual respect and mutual learning. Seychelles is willing to further enhance cooperation between the two parties to lead sound and stable development of bilateral relations.
