At the invitation of Democratic Party of Italy, Qu Qingshan, Member of the CPC Central Committee and Director of Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, led a CPC delegation to visit Italy from December 17th to 19th where he promoted the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress. He respectively met with Marina Sereni, Deputy Speaker of the Lower House, Vinicio Peluffo, Chair of the Italian Parliament Association “Friends of China”, Francesco Verducc, Leader of Democratic Party of Italy and Massimo D'alema, former Italian Prime Minister and President of Foundation for Italian Europeans. Qu held discussions with young politicians of Democratic Party of Italy, exchanged with experts and scholars of Foundation for Italian Europeans, and attended the briefing session held by the Italian Parliament Association “Friends of China” to promote the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress. He mainly expounded on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and stressed that China will adhere to the path of peaceful development, promote the “Belt and Road” construction, and actively build the a community with a shared future for mankind.
Italy spoke highly of significant contributions and global influence of the 19th CPC National Congress and praised the CPC’s governance wisdom and its awareness of the international responsibilities. Italy stands ready to take this opportunity to promote alignment of development strategies of the two countries and regional practical cooperation and propel greater development of both countries and their people.
Qu also held a briefing session for staff at Chinese Embassy in Italy and Permanent Representation of China to the UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture to promote the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress.
