Beijing, December 19th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today on the evening with Philippe Etienne, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of France. Both sides exchanged views on China-France and China-Europe relations as well as issues of common concern.
Song introduced the relevant information of the 19th CPC National Congress, adding that President Xi Jinping and President Emmanuel Macron held a meeting during the G20 Hamburg Summit and two telephone talks successively, reaching a lot of consensus on the development of China-France relations. Both sides should well implement the important consensus of the two heads of state. The CPC is willing to maintain regular contacts with all political parties of France, including the ruling party so as to push China-France comprehensive strategic partnership to a new stage.
Etienne expressed that the 19th CPC National Congress has yielded fruitful outcomes and drawn blueprints for China’s future development. France values the new opportunities for France-China cooperation in various fields provided by the 19th CPC National Congress. The ruling party of France is willing to strengthen contacts with the CPC and play an important role of political parties in bilateral relations as well as in international affairs.
