Yang Jiechi Meets with Japanese Representatives Attending 7th Meeting of China-Japan Ruling Party Exchange Mechanism

Beijing, December 28th—Yang Jiechi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and State Councilor met here today with the delegation led by Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) and Inoue Yoshihisa, Secretary-General of the New Komeito Party of Japan, who were in China for the 7th Meeting of China-Japan Ruling Party Exchange Mechanism.

Yang said that the stable development of China-Japan relations conforms to the interests of both sides. The two sides should earnestly cement political mutual trust, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to consolidate the social foundation for long-term development of China-Japan relations. China and Japan should make good use of the platform of the ruling party exchange mechanism and promote the improvement of China-Japan relations in a bid to jointly promote regional and world peace and development.

The Japanese side expressed that the ruling party exchange mechanism has made important contributions to advancing the development of Japan-China relations. Japan is willing to further deepen exchanges between both countries in politics, economy, culture and other fields.
