Chen conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings and best wishes to President Idriss Deby, and expressed that in recent years, the two heads of state have held many meetings, at which the two sides exchanged in-depth views and reached many important consensuses on exchanges and cooperation in various fields, guiding the development of bilateral relations to a new phase. President Idriss Deby is welcome to attend the upcoming Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The CPC is willing to, together with the Patriotic Salvation Movement (MPS), further enhance high-level exchanges and strategic communication, deepen exchange of experience in state governance and administration, and give play to the political leading advantage of ruling parties, in a bid to promote relations between both countries for sustained and sound development.

Deby asked Chen to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping, and expressed that Chad highly appreciates China’s great achievements in various fields since the implementation of the reform and opening up. The country thanks China for offering strong support and assistance to its economic and social construction for a long time. Deby looks forward to attending the FOCAC Beijing Summit to jointly discuss the undertakings of cooperation between Africa and China with various parties. The MPS attaches importance to developing friendly relations with the CPC, and stands ready to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties, so as to push Chad-China relations for constant and forward-looking development.

During the visit, Chen also held talks with Mahamat Zen Bada, MPS Secretary-General, and inspected cooperation projects between the two countries.
