Qian Hongshan Meets with Portuguese Guests

Beijing, July 18th--Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with Paulo de Sacadura Cabral Portas, Vice-president of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, former Deputy Prime Minister and former President of the CDS–People’s Party.

Qian made positive comments on China-Portugal relations and expressed that the Chinese side pays high attention to developing the relations between both countries and is willing to increase political mutual trust, and enhance the practical cooperation in all areas under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative with the Portuguese side, so as to jointly promote the development of China-Portugal comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.

Portas expressed that at present, Portugal-China relations develop smoothly in such areas as economy, trade and investment. The Portuguese side is willing to take an active participation in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, better advance the economic and social development of the two countries and promote world peace and prosperity.
