Nanjing, September 18th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Prachanda, Co-Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) and former Nepalese Prime Minister, who came to China to attend the commemoration activities of the 2018 International Day of Peace.

Speaking positively of the important contributions Prachanda has made to pushing the friendly cause of China and Nepal, Song welcomed Prachanda to attend the commemoration activities of the 2018 International Day of Peace in China. Song expressed that both the CPC and the CPN are ruling parties, and that the efforts of both Parties to constantly deepen friendly cooperation will further cement the political foundation of the development of China-Nepal relations. The CPC is willing to, together with the CPN, jointly and well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and firmly grasp the new historical opportunities of the development of China-Nepal relations, so as to constantly inject fresh impetus into the development of China-Nepal relations with the new achievements scored from the cooperation between the two Parties.

Song also mainly publicized and introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Prachanda spoke highly of the constant new development of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era under the leadership of the CPC with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core and expressed satisfaction that Nepal-China friendly relations have always maintained high-level development. Prachanda stated that the CPN stands ready to comprehensively strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, in a bid to push the acceleration of Nepal-China relations and elevated it to a new historical stage.
