Song Tao Meets with Leader of Democratic Party for the People of Japan

Tokyo, October 12th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Yuichiro Tamaki, Leader of the Democratic Party for the People of Japan.

Song congratulated Yuichiro Tamaki on his election as Leader of the Democratic Party for the People, and appreciated his positive efforts to promote China-Japan relations. Song expressed that China-Japan relations have currently been on the right track, and are faced with the important opportunity for further development and improvement. My visit this time aims to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, and have in-depth discussions with various major political parties of Japan on how to better give play to the political guiding role of party-to-party exchanges in the development of China-Japan relations, so as to jointly promote China-Japan relations for sustained and stable development. It is hoped that the Democratic Party for the People will inherit fine traditions, and continue enhancing exchanges between the two Parties, in a bid to promote party-to-party exchanges and cooperation between the two countries for more practical outcomes.

Yuichiro Tamaki expressed that the Democratic Party for the People attaches great importance to developing Japan-China friendly relations, and stands ready to continue strengthening exchanges with the CPC, and propel the two Parties to carry out institutional exchanges, so as to jointly promote the sustained development and improvement of Japan-China relations.
