President of South Africa and President of ANC Meets with Song Tao

On December 4th, Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa and President of African National Congress (ANC), met here on the afternoon at presidential palace with a delegation led by Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), who was visiting South Africa and attended the second BRICS Political Parties Plus Dialogue.

Song first conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings and best wishes to President Ramaphosa. He expressed that President Xi and President Ramaphosa have successfully exchanged visits and met for three times within this year, during which they have reached broad consensus on the development of the relations between the two Parties and the two countries and on international topics of common interest, pushing the relations between the two Parties and the two countries to new highs. At present, the world is undergoing a new round of great development, great reform and great adjustment with the reform of global governance system and international order being accelerated and increasing uncertain and instable factors in international situation. Under such circumstances, it is very important and of great significance to push for the unity and cooperation among the BRICS. China is willing to make concerted efforts with South Africa to well implement the important consensus of the top leaders of the two countries and the results of Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the BRICS Johannesburg Summit, reinforce exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties, boost the development of the relations between the two countries, and bring benefits to the two peoples, so as to make greater contributions to safeguarding the common interests of developing countries and building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Ramaphosa asked Song to convey his sincere thanks and best wishes to President Xi, and thanked China for providing vigorous support for South Africa in its national liberation and development. He expressed the willingness to further deepen relations between the two Parties and the two countries, promote common development, strengthen BRICS cooperation and well safeguard the fundamental interests of the vast number of developing countries, in a bid to push for building a new international political and economic order that is more just and reasonable.
