Beijing, December 14th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with the cadre study group of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) led by by Melese Alemu Hirboro, Vice Head of EPRDF Headquarters.

Song expressed that thanks to the care and promotion from the leaders of the two Parties and two countries, friendly cooperation between China and Ethiopia has been comprehensively deepened in recent years,. In September this year, President Xi Jinping reached consensus on developing relations between the two Parties and two countries with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali of Ethiopia who was on his visit to China, charting the course for bilateral cooperation in the new era. China is willing to work with Ethiopia to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, so as to constantly open up a new situation for bilateral relations. The CPC attaches great importance to its relations with the EPRDF, and is willing to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties and play its political leading role for the development of China-Ethiopia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, in a bid to benefit the two peoples.

Melese expressed that Ethiopia highly lauds the eight major initiatives towards Africa’s cooperation put forward by President Xi Jinping at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and is committed to developing Ethiopia-China friendship. The EPRDF cherishes its friendly relations with the CPC and is willing to enhance exchanges of experience in party governance and state administration.
