President of the Serbian Progressive Party and President of Serbia Meets with Yang Xiaodu

Belgrade, October 14 (Xinhua) --Aleksandar Vucic, President of the Serbian Progressive Party and President of Serbia met here today with Yang Xiaodu, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Director of National Supervisory Commission.

Yang conveyed Chinese President and General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping's warm greetings to Vucic. Yang said that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has flourished under the strategic leadership and personal promotion of the two heads of state. China is working with Serbia to well implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and expand cooperation in various areas under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. China speaks highly of the remarkable achievements made by Serbia under the leadership of President Vucic. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Serbian Progressive Party, learn from each other and jointly boost the development of the relations between the two countries. Yang also briefed on China's full and strict governance over the party under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core. Yang hoped that the two countries would actively conduct international cooperation in anti-corruption, and jointly promote the construction of a clean Silk Road.

Vucic asked Yang to send his best wishes to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, the great friend of the Serbian people, and warmly congratulated on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, adding that Serbia will constantly expand cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative with China and enrich the connotation of bilateral relations. The Serbian Progressive Party is willing to deepen exchanges of experience in party governance and state administration with the CPC and improve its ability and level of governance. As corruption is a common challenge facing all countries in the world, Serbia will strengthen cooperation with China in the field of anti-corruption.

At the invitation of the Serbian Progressive Party, Yang, who heads a CPC delegation, started his visit to Serbia on October 12th. During the visit, Yang also met respectively with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, President of the Socialist Party of Serbia Ivica Dacic, who is also First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, and Vice President of the Serbian Progressive Party Marko Djuric. Yang made a special report for middle- and high-ranking officials of the Serbian Progressive Party, and inspected primary-level party building of the Serbian Progressive Party and key projects of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative by China and Serbia.
