BEIJING, March 26 -- Wang Zhaoguo, a senior official of the Communist
Party of China (CPC) Central Committee said Monday that the CPC will
promote exchanges with the ruling African National Congress (ANC) of
South Africa.
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said
the CPC and Chinese government highly value the relationship with
the ANC and South African government.
Wang made the remarks while meeting with visiting ANC Secretary-General
Kgalema Motlanthe.
The sound relationship between the two parties serves as the political
foundation for bilateral ties, said Wang, also vice-chairman of the
Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress.
Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to South Africa earlier this year
unveiled a series of activities marking the 10th anniversary of
bilateral diplomatic ties, Wang said.
Motlanthe said the ANC is eager to obtain experiences of the CPC to
improve itself and meet the expectations of the South African
people.
