DAKAR, Sept. 8--President Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal met in the
presidential house today with the visiting CPC good-will delegation led by Vice
Minister Li Jinjun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Wade expressed warm welcome to the CPC delegation, saying that the
Senegalese Democratic Party (SDP) would like to strengthen political exchanges
with the CPC so as to enhance friendly cooperation between the two parties and
two countries.
Wade said that since Senegal and China resumed diplomatic relations, the
development of bilateral relations has been satisfactory. The Senegalese
government hopes to see more Chinese enterprises investing and setting up
business in Senegal to support the economic development of Senegal through
win-win cooperation.
Li spoke highly of the contribution made by President Wade in promoting
the development of China-Senegal relations, and thanked the Senegalese
government for its adherence to the one China principle. Li also expressed the
willingness of the CPC and the Chinese government to further deepen friendly
cooperation with the SDP and Senegalese government to push forward overall
development of relations between the two countries.
SDP Deputy General Secretary and Speaker of the National Assembly Macky
Sall and Chinese Ambassador to Senegal Lu Shaye were present at the meeting.
The CPC good-will delegation arrived in Dakar on September 7th at the
invitation of the SDP for a four-day visit in Senegal.
