Cambodian Premier meets with CPC delegation

  Phnom Penh, Sept. 12--Premier of Cambodia and Vice Chairman of the Cambodia People's Party (CPP) Samdech Hun Sen met here today with the CPC delegation headed by Party Secretary Wang Yang of the Chongqing Municipal CPC Committee.

  During the meeting, Hun Sen said that thanks to the solid foundation laid by the old generation of Cambodian and Chinese leaders for the friendship between the two countries, the bilateral friendly cooperation in various fields is very fruitful. King Norodom Sihamoni, President Heng Samrin of the National Assembly and himself are determined to further develop this traditional friendship. The Cambodian side is grateful to the CPC and Chinese government for their consistent support and help to the stability of Cambodia. He reaffirmed his country's commitment to the one China policy.

  Hun Sen believed that the visit of the CPC delegation will further consolidate relations between the two parties and two countries, forge stronger links between Cambodian and Chinese provinces, and deepen comprehensive cooperation between Cambodia and China. He also suggested possible fields and business opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

  Wang Yang said that China and Cambodia are good neighbors, friends and partners. Despite of changes in the world situation, the CPC and Chinese government have always been active in forging friendly and cooperative relations with Cambodia and are keen to deepen and upgrade such relations in all dimensions. Wang Yang also briefed the host on the development of Chongqing and expressed willingness to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and Cambodia in economy, trade, culture and education.

  Today, the CPC delegation also met Deputy Premier of Cambodia and Secretary General of FUNCINPEC party Nhiek Bun Chhay and Chairman of the CPP Foreign Relations Committee Yos Son respectively, and attended the contract signing ceremony between business communities of Chongqing and Cambodia.

  The CPC delegation led by Wang Yang arrived in Cambodia on September 11 for a four-day visit at the invitation of the CPP and FUNCINPEC Party.
