BEIJING, Oct. 15 -- Leaders of a number of friendly parties in the world
have sent congratulatory messages to the Communist Party of China on the
occasion of the convening of its 17th National Congress.

Mizuho Fukushima, leader of the Social Democratic Party of Japan;
Park Sang-Cheon, chairman of the Democratic Party of the Republic of
Korea;
Debabrata Biswas, general secretary of the All India Forward Bloc;
Asfandyar Wali Khan, president of the Awami National Party of Pakistan;
Hasanul Haq Inu, president of Jatio Samajtantrik Dal of Bangladesh;
Manzurul Ahsan Khan, president of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, and

Fabio Amato, head of International Relations Department of the Communist
