BEIJING, Oct. 30 -- Minister Wang Jiarui of the International Department of the
CPC Central Committee met today with a delegation from the Saudi Arabia-China
Friendship Committee of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia headed by its
chairman Dr. Abdul Aziz SH.N.AL. Otaibi.
Wang spoke positively on China-Saudi relations and expressed appreciation of the
Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia for its efforts in promoting the
friendship between the two countries. He briefed the guests on the Seventeenth
National Congress of the CPC, stressing that China will stick to the road of
peaceful development and promote the building of a harmonious world. He said
that China highly regards Saudi Arabia's role in regional affairs, hoping to
deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
Otaibi gave a brief account of the regional situation and domestic situation of
Saudi Arabia. He spoke highly of China's positive role in Middle East affairs.
He said that Saudi Arabia is also committed to promoting balanced regional
development, hoping to step up exchanges with the CPC in order to draw strength
from each other.
