BEIJING, Nov. 6 -- Wang Zhaoguo, a member of the Political Bureau of the
Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met here Tuesday with Yadira
Garcia, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist
Party of Cuba.
Wang, who is also vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National
People's Congress (NPC), said Sino-Cuban relations have developed steadily in
recent years, and bilateral exchanges and cooperation deepened in the political,
economic, cultural, scientific and technological and educational fields, as well
as in the international affairs.
He said China's new central collective leadership valued traditional friendship
with Cuba and would improve the bilateral ties to a new high.
Garcia hailed the successful convening of the 17th National Congress of the CPC,
saying Cuba would like to work with the CPC and Chinese government to promote
advancement in bilateral relations and cooperation.
