Tang Jiaxuan meets with Japanese Ruling Coalition Delegation

BEIJING, Nov. 22 -- State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met at Diaoyutai State Guest House today with a delegation from the Japanese ruling coalition headed by Tanigaki Sadakazu, Chairman of the Policy Research Council of the Liberal Democratic Party and Saito Tetsuo, Chairman of the Policy Research Council of the New Komeito Party.

Tang said that Sino-Japanese relations are facing important opportunities for further improvement and development, and that the Chinese side is willing to work together with Japan to make good preparations for the exchange of visits between leaders of the two countries, further deepen bilateral economic cooperation and trade, expand people-to-people contacts, and properly address related issues bearing great sensitivity so as to lay a solid foundation for long-term, healthy, and steady development of bilateral relations.

Tanigaki Sadakazu and other guests expressed their happiness with the important progress of bilateral relations over the past year, saying that the two parties in the ruling coalition attach great importance to Japan-China relations and are willing to, through exchanges with the CPC, make fresh contribution to deepening bilateral friendly cooperation and boost friendship between the two peoples.

The Japanese delegation of the ruling coalition is in Beijing to attend the third meeting under the exchange mechanism between the two countries¡¯ ruling parties at the invitation of the CPC.
