Wang Jiarui meets with delegation of Japan's ruling coalition

BEIJING, Nov. 23 -- Minster Wang Jiarui of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met with a delegation of Japan's ruling coalition led by Tanigaki Sadakazu, Chairman of the Policy Research Council of the Liberal Democratic Party and Saito Tetsuo, Chairman of the Policy Research Council of the New Komeito Party.

Wang extended warm welcome to the Japanese delegation which has come to China to attend the third conference of the "China-Japan Ruling Parties Exchange Mechanism". Wang said that the Chinese Party and government attach great importance to China-Japan relations and view and deal with bilateral relations from a strategic height and long-term perspective. It is China's position that by strictly adhering to the principles of the three political documents including the China-Japan Joint Statement, the two sides should constantly strengthen exchanges between political parties and parliaments of the two countries and among the two peoples, as well as exchanges in political, economic, cultural and other fields in order to realize "peaceful co-existence, lasting friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation and common development".

The two sides had in-depth exchange of views on issues of common interest.
