Bulgarian PM meets with Zhang Zhijun

SOFIA, Nov. 23 -- Sergei Stanishev, President of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and Prime Minister of the government of Bulgaria, met today with Vice-Minister Zhang Zhijun of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee in Sofia.

Zhang spoke highly of China-Bulgaria relations and briefed Stanishev on the Seventeenth National Congress of the CPC. Stanishev said that Bulgaria attaches great importance to mutually beneficial cooperation with China in trade and other areas and supports in-depth development of political exchanges between ruling parties of the two countries.

On the 22nd, Zhang had a meeting in Sofia with Poul Rasmussen, President of the Party of European Socialists (PES), and briefed him on the Seventeenth CPC Congress.
