CPC representative attends National Congress of SWAPO

JOHANNESBURG, Dec. 1 -- Windhoek: At the invitation of Namibia's ruling party the SWAPO Party, Zhang Huawei, vice-ministerial inspector of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the fourth National Congress of the SWAPO Party as a representative of the CPC from the 27th to the 30th of November.

Zhang read out the message of congratulations from the CPC Central Committee during the opening ceremony of the Congress on November 27th. During the Congress, Zhang Huawei called on Nujoma, founding president of Namibia and chairman of the SWAPO Party.

During his meeting with Namibian President Pohamba, who was elected new chairman of SWAPO, Zhang Huawei handed over to him the letter of congratulations from General Secretary Hu Jintao of the CPC Central Committee on his election. Pohamba expressed gratitude to the CPC for sending representative to the Congress and expressed readiness for further strengthening and consolidating the traditional friendship between the two parties and the two countries.

Zhang also met with Pendukeni Ithana-Iivula, SWAPO's new secretary-general, who is cabinet minister of justice and attorney-general, and Nangolo Mbumba, deputy secretary-general of SWAPO and minister of education.
