BEIJING, Dec. 17 -- Minister Wang Jiarui of the International Department of the
CPC Central Committee met here today with Tung Thi Phong, member of the
Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and
vice-president of Vietnam's National Assembly.
Wang said that as the CPC and the CPV cherish the same ideal, strengthening
diverse forms of inter-party exchanges and cooperation between the two sides is
of important significance for advancing China-Vietnam relations. Wang also
indicated that the Chinese side would work together with the Vietnamese side for
the overall interest of developing the bilateral relations by preserving the
sound momentum of comprehensive growth of the China-Vietnam traditional
friendship and cooperation through concerted efforts.
Tung Thi Phong said that the CPV and the Vietnamese government always uphold the
established principles guiding the development of relations with China, and that
Vietnam will always remain China's good neighbor, good friend, good comrade and
good partner.
