BEIJING, Dec. 19 -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met here Wednesday with
British opposition Conservative Party leader David Cameron.
According to a press release from the Department, Yang spoke positively of the
China-U.K. relations and the achievements of bilateral cooperation conducted in
various sectors.
He called for the two sides to seize the opportunity at the current stage, and
push forward the China-U.K. relations.
Cameron said it is the consensus of both his party the ruling Labor party to
develop relations with China.
The Conservative Party holds the same stance with the ruling party on the issue
of Taiwan, and both will adhere to the one-China policy, said Cameron.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of
common concern.
Cameron was here at the invitation of the International Department of the
Central Committee of Communist Party of China.
