BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of
China (CPC) will enhance exchange and cooperation with all political parties in
Asia countries to create a new situation of Asia's revival, the top CPC leader
said here Friday evening.
Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC
Central Committee and Chinese President, made the remark at the welcome banquet
for delegates attending the Third International Conference of Asian Political
Parties (ICAPP), which opened Friday morning.
The Five Principles
of Peaceful Coexistence, initiated in the 1950s' by China and some other Asian
countries, has contributed to Asian nations' peaceful coexistence and the
democratization in international relations, Hu said.
The
principles include mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity,
mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other's internal affairs,
equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence.
The
principles are still playing a role as an "important cornerstone" for building a
fair and rational new international political and economic order, he
said.
"The consensus that has been reached by the ICAPP conforms
with the Five Principles and is conducive to safeguarding world peace, promoting
common development and establishing a new international political and economic
order that is just and rational," said Hu.
China will maintain its
independent foreign policy of peace, as well as the policy of friendship and
partnership with its neighbors, and pursue a foreign policy of living in harmony
with its neighboring countries, sharing security with them and helping them
prosper, he said.
China will follow the principles of
independence, complete equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each
other's internal affairs to further develop party-to-party contacts, sincerely
promote an overall cooperative relationship with all countries and work with
other political parties to forge ties for the benefit of state-to-state
relations and the friendship among the people.
China will continue
to work with all Asian countries to achieve equality and mutual trust
politically, mutual benefit and win-win economically, exchange and emulation
culturally, and dialogue and cooperation in the security field. China will
strive for the realization of lasting peace and common prosperity in Asia, Hu
said.
