BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to further strengthen the friendly exchanges and cooperation with political parties of Bangladesh, said Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju here Saturday.

Huang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting with delegations from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Bangladesh Awami League, Bangladesh National Party and Bangladesh Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), led by Abdullah AL Noman, Alhaj Syed Abul Hossain, Bidisha Ershad and Dilip Barua respectively.

In recent years, China and Bangladesh, which share a friendship of a long history, have carried out close cooperation in the areas such as politics, economy and culture, Huang said.

Both China and Bangladesh supported each other in the international affairs, which pushed the traditional bilateral ties to a new high, said Huang. He also appraised the important roles played by the two countries' political parties in pushing forward the relations between the two nations.

The representatives of the Bangladeshi parties said China's development and progress not only do good to Asian countries, but also set a successful model for other developing countries.

The Bangladeshi political parties will, as always, make active efforts to consolidate and boost the friendly and cooperative relations between Bangladesh and China, they said.

The Bangladeshi representatives are here attending the third International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) held from Sept. 3 to 5.

The current ICAPP, with the theme of "Exchange, Cooperation and Development", is the first of its kind hosted by the CPC. More than 350 delegates from 34 countries attended the meeting.

Initiated in 2000, the first two ICAPP conferences were held in the Philippines in September 2000 and Thailand in November 2002, respectively.
